Oxalic acid 65160

By Waxine inc. in Chemicals and Mordants

Sizes: 250 or 500 grams

Poisonous and corrosive product. Wear protective gloves and glasses. Keep out of reach of children.

Oxalic acid is used to remove stains and greying marks on weather-stained wood. It is also used to degrime and renew older furniture finishes and degrease oiled woods such as teak.

In a non-metal container, combine a small quantity of oxalic acid with a bit of warm water to create a granular paste. Stir with a wooden stick (do not use metal) until completely dissolved. Apply a generous amount of the mixture with a paintbrush onto the wood surface and let sit for 20 minutes. Work over the area with a nylon brush until desired effect is achieved. Rinse with clean water to neutralize the mixture. Let dry for 24 hours before applying any finishing products or applying a second coat of oxalic acid.
