Raw Umbers is from the natural Iron Oxide group.
Raw Umber has a good dying capacity, but poor coverage. It also offers excellent UV resistance.
Burnt Umber can be used as a transparent pigment and often used to produce greenish-brown colored furniture finishes.
It is soluble in all mediums.
